Mike Smith to Become Non-Executive Director.

Mike Smith, CEO of Titanic Quarter Ltd, has today (17th April, 2012) announced that he is to retire from managing the day-to-day operations of one of Europe’s largest waterfront development projects.

Mr. Smith who has been at the helm of the organisation for the past ten years is to step down as CEO at the end of May and will become a non-executive board member.

Thanking Mr. Smith for his contribution, Harcourt and Titanic Quarter Ltd Chairman, Pat Doherty, said:

“Mike has provided Titanic Quarter Ltd with outstanding leadership over the past decade. His contribution to the development of Belfast has been immense through his role here and in his previous position at Laganside. He has achieved much and has much to be proud of.  I am delighted that Mike is to remain with Titanic Quarter Ltd as a non-executive Director where his expertise and experience will no doubt continue to be an asset.”

Mr. Smith said that the completion of the stunning new Titanic Belfast visitor attraction, which opened at the end of March, seemed an appropriate junction to end the day job.  Speaking to Titanic Quarter Ltd’s Board Mr. Smith said:

“It has been a pleasure to work at Titanic Quarter. This is a project which will redefine the future of Belfast and to have played a part in shaping your city is a great honour. I would like to thank Pat and his colleagues for the support I have been given over the past ten years.”
